Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups sliced strawberries
1/4 cup sugar
Whipped cream, for serving

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 425°F.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a separate bowl, mix together the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Pour into the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times. Pat the dough into a square about 1 inch thick.
Using a biscuit cutter, cut out rounds of dough and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
While the shortcakes are baking, toss the sliced strawberries with sugar and let sit for at least 10 minutes.
To assemble, split the shortcakes in half, spoon the strawberries over the bottom half, top with whipped cream, and then place the other half of the shortcake on top. Serve and enjoy!

Strawberry Shortcake Parfait Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup granola
1 cup sliced strawberries
1/4 cup honey

Instructions:

In a glass or bowl, layer the yogurt, granola, strawberries, and honey.
Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used up.
Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a strawberry for garnish.
Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing and easy-to-make dessert!
